Pronouns adalah kata yang menggantikan benda atau sesuatu yang dibendakan. Pronouns dibagi menjadi 9, yaitu:

1.      Personal pronouns (kata ganti orang)

2.      Possessive pronouns (kata ganti kepunyaan)

3.      Reflexive pronouns (kata ganti mandiri)

4.      Demonstrative pronouns (kata ganti petunjuk)

5.      Relative pronouns (kata ganti penghubung)

6.      Interrogative pronouns (kata ganti penanya)

7.      Reciprocal pronouns (kata ganti yang menyatakan hubungan timbal balik)

8.      Definite pronouns (kata ganti tertentu)

9.      Indefinite pronouns (kata ganti yang tidak tertentu)

Uraian pronouns dapat dijabarkan seperti di bawah ini:

1.      Personal pronoun, dibagi menjadi 2:

a.       Subject:

I, you, we, they, she, he, it

b.      Object:

Me, you, us, them, her, him, it

2.      Possessive pronoun, dibagi menjadi 2:

a.         Adjective:

       My + noun

       Your + noun

       Our + noun

       Their + noun

       Her + noun

       His + noun

       Its + noun

       Example: My book, our home

b.         Pronoun:

       Mine, yours, ours, theirs, hers, his, its

3.      Reflexive pronoun:

My self, yourself, ourselves, themselves, herself, himself, itself

4.      Demonstrative pronoun:

This, that, these, those, the

5.      Relative pronoun:

Who, whom, which, that, where, when

6.      Interrogative pronoun:

Who, whom, what, which, whose, how, why, where, etc.

7.      Reciprocal pronoun:

Each other, one, another

8.      Definite pronoun:

The other

9.      Indefinite pronoun:

All, both, each, either, other(s), many, some, etc.
